Excitement is already building as the Swingle Singers prepare for their performance at Lovebox Festival 2010 this summer; the festival is warning people to 'expect the unexpected'! 

Following the overwhelming success of the first-ever London A Cappella Festival held at Kings Place in January 2010, we are delighted to announce a short series of free performances as part of the annual Kings Place Festival in September, to showcase more of the UK's best a cappella groups. The London A Cappella Festival, curated by the world-famous, five-time Grammy-winning vocal group the Swingle Singers, brings together the UK's diverse a cappella community, with music ranging from choral and jazz to contemporary and gospel ensembles.

International a cappella sensation the Swingle Singers will be performing at some exciting venues and festivals in the UK this summer!

Since its release on May 10th, Howard Goodall's Pelican in the Wilderness featuring the Tippett Quartet alongside the Enchanted Voices has stormed the charts; after just 3 days the CD was 2nd in the classical charts and 100th in the pop charts! Read more here.

Early Music vocal ensemble Stile Antico will this year make its debut at the BBC Proms, one of the world's greatest classical music festivals. They will perform their hugely popular programme "Song of Songs", whose CD was nominated for a GRAMMY award in 2009. The performance is on Monday 23 August at 1pm, at Cadogan Hall.

Stile Antico have been nominated for a Classical Brit Award, in the category of Young British Classical Performer or Group. The announcement was made yesterday at the Awards Launch at the Mayfair Hotel in London. Stile Antico is running against young mezzo-soprano Faryl Smith (from the TV show 'Britain's Got Talent') and violinist Jack Liebeck.

The Tippett Quartet features on Howard Goodall's brand new album 'Pelican in the Wilderness', to be released in May 2010.

'Pelican in the Wilderness' contains 13 lush vocal arrangements of Psalms, and features Enchanted Voices as well as the Tippett Quartet. Featured pieces include a new version of Howard's much loved theme from The Vicar of Dibley, 'Psalm 23: The Lord is my Shepherd', and Psalm 137, 'By the Waters of Babylon'.

'Ferris Wheels', the Swingle Singers' latest release, has been nominated for Best Jazz Album in the CARAs (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards). The album features songs by some of the world's great singer-songwriters. 'No More "I Love You's", a track from 'Ferris Wheels', has also been nominated, for Best Jazz Song.

The February 2010 issue of International Record Review features Stile Antico on the front cover, as well as a whole page review of the group's latest release 'Media Vita'.

Critic Christopher Price remarks "Stile Antico's unforced pacing, sensitive phrasing and wonderfully clear textures underline the serene mood and harmonic richness of these modest works."

Comparing the group's recording of Sheppard's 'Media Vita' to that of the Tallis Scholars' from 1989, he goes on: "the more distantly recorded and monumental Tallis Scholars...sound slightly soulless next to Stile Antico..."
