Wallfisch Family Documentary screening in Paris

The fascinating Wallfisch Family Documentary "Saved by Music: The Wallfisch Family" will be screened in the Musee de l'histoire et de l'art du judaisme in Paris on 6th February.

Starting with the incredible life of cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch, who survived Auschwitz by playing in the camp's orchestra, the documentary goes on to discover the musical heritage of her son Raphael the esteemed cellist, his wife Elizabeth, a specialist in Baroque and Classical violin, and their children Benjamin (conductor), Jo (jazz singer) and Simon (tenor). 

London A Cappella Festival 2011 dazzling opening concert

The London A Cappella Festival 2011, running at Kings Place from 12-15 January, kicked off on Wednesday evening with an incredible performance from the Real Group.

Described as "dazzling...an exuberant, energetic and entertaining show" by Richard Morrison of The Times, the Real Group treated the enraptured audience to a "warm, seamless and irresistible wall of amplified vocalsound...infused with well-shaped melodies, sophisticated harmonies, natty polyphony, discreet but clever electronic echoes and highly distinctive humour".
